How the bamboo yoga students feel
I have been attending cases at Bamboo yoga since Dec 18 with a variety of teachers and I have loved all the classes. Bamboo studio offers a safe space and nurturing teachers. It is a community where everyone is welcomed and valued for their uniqueness and power. Karen’s mantra that all our bodies are on their own journey gives us all permission to embrace where we our in terms of our practice and not compare ourselves to others.
During lockdown I have been attending hatha, yin and restorative yoga classes virtually with Karen (basically I go to as many classes as I can). These classes are amazing and am not sure how I would be surviving these challenging times without them. Karen has somehow continued the bamboo community for us even though we are in our own homes and created a nurturing, loving space for us all. She blends challenging and healing yoga poses and practice with spiritual teachings, sharing her own light and vulnerability with us. I am finding yin yoga particularly transformative in its focus on staying with uncomfortable feelings and welcoming them in to pass through them. I am growing every week in physical and emotional strength. Bamboo yoga is a true gift and I feel lucky to have Karen and the community in my life.

Attending Karen Jackson’s Yin and Hatha yoga classes at Bamboo Yoga and now on line have kept me going during this difficult time. I have especially taken comfort and moments of peace from the yin practice.
I have been attending classes for a number years - am not a typical bendy yoga natural - but it has allowed me to focus on my wellbeing and strength. I have also adopted DoTERRA oils and Karen’s wise words into my daily life.
“If I am calm I am stronger” is a phrase that has stuck with me. These classes help me to keep my perspective and keep my body and mind well.

I met Karen after a friend mentioned following her on Instagram. I found her yoga class easy to follow, some lovely elements of fun and very spiritual. I’ve also signed up for an essential oils training session, and as part of this Karen has spent time and given consideration to my individual needs. She has been very caring, compassionate and respectful and I’m really grateful to her for this. I also find her posts interesting, informative and encouraging, and they help remind me of my core values. Thank you and I look forward to attending many more sessions.

I love the Thursday night yin class and it has become my regular Thursday chill. I like that I can practice in my PJs or any comfy clothes I like with my own cushions and blankets and experience the soothing postures at home. Karen makes the trickier poses accessible as she offers alternatives but also lovely readings to help my mind focus and stay in the poses. I haven’t missed a week since the lockdown started.

Beautiful teaching, giving me the vehicle through yin for the journey to re-connect with the real me and guiding me to find the inner me and inner strength that's been lost over the years in life’s trials and tribulations.
Introducing postures to bring a calmness and self confidence which in turn gives a more stable outlook to life.
Absolutely love it - Sharon
